Greedy as a Pig (with a monocle)

I know I've been terribly delinquent in posting here, I do apologize to those few (possibly) interested parties.

Anywho, here is the progress thus far on my latest. It is of course a pig with a pipe, bow tie, monocle, and top hat. Going for a few layers of contrast here: Realistic pencil shade vs simple line drawing; clean white space vs rough brown, etc...Kinda fun for a tattoo artist this way, similar to the way I work in that medium. Start with a simple black line drawing, then attempt render that in a more nuanced realistic way. Simple, hot press illustration board, HB pencil, torn up brown paper, and Staedtler Pigment liner pens (Awesome!). Anyway, just playing around. Will post some final pics in a few days (I hope) when it's complete.

Cambridge Adventure

Allrighty, sorry about the delay been super busy at the shop and working on this new piece for a bit.
Just sold this one at the Tattoo Circus show at Hourglass Tattoo in Cambridge, Mass. Had a great time in Cambridge and at the opening. Big thanks to Andrew and John!
As for the piece, it's about 24x18, watercolor and marker on paper.
I've got a couple of new ones in the works allready so stay tuned for some more!

More new stuff

Getting a little bored with these little ones, working on a good size piece, so look out for that. As for this one...

and Another One...

Little irony, just having some fun. I love painting stuff like this, random objects in a tattoo style, fun way to do the sort of pieces most people would rather not wear permenantly.

In progress

So as I mentioned before I'm always interested in the processes of other artists and so planned on showing some of my own here. Nothing crazy or new here, but this is the ink stage of my next watercolor piece. I use a variety of pens/markers, Staedtler, Micron, Sharpie, etc...and right now just a standard cold press watercolor paper, medium tooth, acid free. I also use hot press illustration board for some water color projects. Finish product should be up soon, framed and all. Stay tuned, enjoy.
